Faculty Startup

For better growth of the entrepreneurial activities in the University and to fulfil the entrepreneurial wish of faculty members, they are encouraged to start their ventures and enroll themselves as incubatees in the IFTM-BIF. Only those technologies/ ideas should be taken for faculty Start-up s which originate from within the University. Role of faculty may vary from being an owner/ promoter, mentor, consultant or as on-board member of the Start-up . Faculty Start-up may consist of faculty members alone or with students or with faculty of other institutes or with alumni or with other entrepreneurs. Faculty will abide by all the regular norms of IFTM-BIF along with the following:
i. Faculty engaging themselves in the Start-up venture should ensure that the regular teaching responsibilities will not suffer owing to his/her involvement in the Start-up activities.
ii. Faculty must not involve research staff or other staff of institute in activities at the Start-up and vice-versa.
iii. Faculty must clearly separate and distinguish on-going research at the institution from the work conducted at the Start-up company.
In case of selection of a faculty Start-up by an outside accelerator, national or international, a leave may be permitted to the faculty at the discretion of the Governing Council of IFTM-BIF.
