Hostel

There are three hostels for boys and one hostel for girls within the University campus with total capacity of 600 boys and 400 girls respectively. Each room is equipped with cupboards, chairs, tables, bookshelves, free wi-fi internet connection etc. Each hostel is provided with a common room where students can relax and watch television. A weekly laundry/linen service is also provided. The hostels are provided with 24-hour electricity and water (hot and cold) supply, purified drinking water and mess service for food with utmost hygienic care. The campus canteen/cafeteria is also available during the University working hours. The hostel superintendents take care of the students in each hostel. The students get the benefit from other University amenities too.
Hostel Allotment Form

Rules & Regulations

1.Hostelites are expected to display acceptable form of behavior and to maintain discipline and decorum in the hostels.
2.Allotment of hostel is subjected to availability of rooms and need analysis of the student. It is not a matter of right of any student.
3.Allotment of rooms will be done by the Hostel Committee and this allotment, if recommended by the Dean of Students Welfare, will be finally approved by the Vice-Chancellor.
4.No mid session withdrawal from the hostel is permissible and as such no refund will be made in any circumstances, such as departure for training, joining etc.
5.Students are not allowed to change their allotted rooms. It may be changed, in special circumstances, and only after the permission of concerned hostel wardens.
6.All hard furnishings such as Fans, Bulbs, Tubes, Tables, Chairs, Cots and Almiras will be issued by the University to the students at the time of occupying the room. The students have to return all these in good condition at the time of leaving the room after the end of Academic Session.
7.No student is allowed to stay in the hostel during working hours.
8.Hostellers can stay in hostel during working hours only in special circumstances and for that they have to take prior permission of the concerned hostel wardens.
9.Any hosteller, if found staying in the hostel during his/her class hours will be fined on the first offence and thereafter strict action will be taken against him/her.
10.Hostellers have to take their breakfast before 09.30 A.M. and after that no breakfast will be served.
11.Hostellers are not allowed to remain outside the hostel after 10.00 P.M. (For Girls not beyond 07.00 P.M.).
12.Hostellers are strictly prohibited to visit the park in front of Faculty residences.
13.Possession, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages, prohibited drugs, chewable tobacco and smoking in the hostel is strictly prohibited and Students found involved in these activities will be fined and may be expelled from the hostel.
14.Hostellers are not allowed to go outside for dinner.
15.Students can bring food from outside and may eat in their rooms only in their own personal utensils, and for that they have to take the prior permission of the concerned hostel wardens.
16.Hostellers are not allowed to take food from Mess to their rooms and students found involved in this will be fined.
17.Cooking Food and using Electric heaters/appliances are strictly prohibited in hostel rooms.
18.Hostellers who wish to go city/home for different reasons have to take prior permission from the Head of the department (during working hours only) & then from the concerned hostel wardens giving proper reason and time duration in the application.
19.Day Scholars or non-hostellers are not allowed in hostels.
20.Parties, social or political gatherings in the hostel complex are strictly prohibited.
21.In case of any unacceptable behavior of the room-mate, the other room-mate must report it to the hostel wardens.
22.Hostelites are responsible for keeping their rooms and the common areas in the hostel such as visitor's area, bathrooms, stair case, and common room etc clean and tidy at all times.
23.All fans, lights and electrical appliances must be switched off when not in use.
24.Pasting of posters, writings, wall chalking, slogans of any kind or defacing the hostel in any form is not allowed.
25.Any damage to the hostel property must be reported immediately to the hostel superintendent. Hostelites will be charged for all damages except damages caused by normal wear and tear.
26.All visitors to the hostel including the parents/guardians will have to make necessary entries in the visitor's book available at the hostel entrance with the hostel superintendent.
27.Hostelites are not permitted to allow visitors of the opposite sex into rooms at any time for whatever reason. Any hostelites found violating this rule will be evicted from the hostel.
28.No overnight guests are permitted in a student's room without permission of the Warden. No person of the opposite sex either guest or otherwise shall be permitted to stay overnight in any part of the hostel.
29.Hostelites are advised to lock all doors at all times for security reasons.
30.The hostel management is not responsible for any loss of private property. Hostelites are strongly advised to lock all their valuables e.g. mobile phones, laptop, watches, money etc at all times.
31.The hostel management reserves the right to move hostelites to other hostel units, if there is a necessity for the same.
32.Any hostelite who find his/her room-mate missing for more than 24 hours, must report to the hostel superintendent immediately. This is to enable the hostel authorities to take immediate action if any untoward incident had taken place. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.
33.Pets are not allowed in the hostel complex.
34.Students should not arrange any picnic/function/meeting within the hostel or outside or within or outside the University campus without specific permission of the Dean (Students) /Warden.
35.Hostelites are duty bound to report to the Dean (Students)/Warden in case they notice any unwanted incident or undesirable activity going on in the hostel or on the campus.
36.A hostel campus should be a place where students can have the best possible conditions for studyies and adequate rest. As such, due consideration must be accorded to other hostelites at all times. Noise level must be kept low to allow others the opportunity to study or sleep in comfort. Television, Radio etc provided in the common room must be switched off or volume toned down after 10:00 pm. These rules are intended to ensure a conducive environment for all hostelites.
37.The hostel management reserves the right to revise the rules and regulations from time to time and will keep the hostelites informed of any changes in the form of notices on the hostel notice boards.
38.The jurisdiction of IFTM University is limited to the campus only. Violation of Law & Order outside the campus will be handled by the local administration.
39.Any complaints, suggestions or enquiries are always welcome.

Mess Rules

1.Self-service is practiced in the Mess.
2.If you have any health problem and special diet is required, inform the same to hostel warden in advance.
3.Do not get into any argument with the cook / mess staff.
4.Grievances if any, with regard to the mess should be conveyed to the hostel warden.
5.Maintain cleanliness in the Mess.
6.Indent and record the additional food supply for your guests or visitors (if permitted) well in advance alongwith prescribed payment to the mess incharge.
7.Food should not be carried to the rooms.
8.Allowing guests to stay and to have meal in the mess without prior permission from the hostel warden will be viewed as infringement of the mess rules and would invite appropriate action.
9.Special items like sweets / supper are served to make your meal delicious and therefore, will be served only once per meal.
10.Avoid entering the kitchen to the possible extent.
11.Eat your share of the meal. Let Your Friends have their share.
12.Do not waste any Food Stuff.

Wardens

To professionally manage the hostels, the University has appointed resident wardens for all the hostels, who manage the administrative functions under the leadership of Dean of Students Welfare for boys and Chief Warden for the girls hostels.
